red robe; the nose has an aroma of red fruit pastilles, raspberry, peony flowers, a summer sweetness, toffee paste. The palate is springy, alert, has real good bounce in its delivery, is quite a rocker, with supple and well-layered content. It sustains well, gives red cherry stone on the close. There’s a nice thread of cool after the mid-palate. This carries interest, isn’t an evident wine, decanting advised. It lasts well. 13°. Bottled 17 March 2018. From 2020. 2029-31 Dec 2018 Previously Nov 2017 ***(*) red robe; the nose gives freely, crushed raspberry with a note of herbs, violet touches. The palate has a firm resolute start, with prune fruit, the intensity of dried fruits, at its centre, then a pebbly, flinty close – the fruit needs to catch up with that. This has quite a serious style. Decanting advised. 650 b. From late 2018. 2024-25 Nov 2017
